Be A "pick-pocket"
Put $100 in a plain envelope and maybe some kind note inside--unsigned.  Maybe it's a gift card for $100 in gasoline!
We hear someone talk about struggling to make ends meet. Like a pick-pocket, only in reverse, we wait for just the right moment to discreetly slip that envelope inside their purse or jacket without that person's knowing.  Imagine their delight when they come across that gift from heaven delivered at a time of great need!

100 Cups of Coffee For 100 Days
There's a inexpensive coffee stand in our community, where I go almost everyday. So my idea would be stand there at 8AM everyday, and pay coffee for the person behind me, and give them a smile card. Just one person everyday. Over time, perhaps people will catch on and it may ignite a local movement even!

A Surprise With A Message
I can afford a cute small surprise with one or two dollars, like a mini-stuff-animal, keychains, stress balls, a box of color pencils, etc. I'd buy a nice variety of items (probably around 70 items with 100 dollars), then I'd write a note with some nice motivational message, and personal note with an explanation about human kindness and the small things. Then I'd attach one message to each small surprise, and place them in different parts of town :)

$10 Investments

I would ask 10 school-aged children to each take $10 and challenge them to give it to the person they thought was most deserving or most in need. The money could be used to "invest" in an idea to increase their $10, but it could not be kept or given to family and friends. Teaching our children to be givers and to watch out for others is so important!

Just Because
I would pick 10 people that I know and put $10.00 in each smile card.  I would write a few things that I admire about them on each card.  I would tell them to take the money and spend it just on themselves with one request attached.  For them to pick one person to slip a card to without their knowing and write 5 things they like about them on it.  And of course ask them to pass it on.  All in secret of course.  Everyone likes to know that others find them appealing.

The Gift Of Giving
If I had an extra $100.00 I would use it in my community.  There are serveral old people in my neighborhood, and many of them are on fixed incomes.  I think the best use of the $100.00 would be to simply slip a few dollars into thier mail slots.  They would then feel lucky, and I know they would smile.

I think i would like to get her a hotel room and a gift basket with necessities...ie shampoo, gift certificates, coupons... Stamps
I would buy books of stamps and would tape a book to post boxes for the next person posting a letter to find.  If they are posting a letter they probably use stamps!  How exciting and nice it is to receive post that is not a bill or a piece of junk mail?  Finding a book of stamps might just encourage that person to write a love letter, a letter to a friend they have not seen for a long time, a birthday or just a note to say 'Hi'. How nice to spread joy through letters.

Homeless Veterans...close To My Heart
I've always had a place in my heart for Veterans with no permanent home. My Dad is a Veteran, but isn't homeless. Anyway, I would like to take the $100 and try somehow to multiple it. Like presenting an idea for helping the homeless Veterans and then getting sponsors, etc. Like the song "Set The World On Fire"...it says I am small, but You are big enough".... There's plenty of companies that would donate, etc.

I could wait for a warm day and find an ice cream or COCO man (here in NYC a coco man is a man who wheels around a iron cooler with frozen coconut, cherry, lime, rainbow, mango flavored Icy treats) and buy treats for those in my community.

Or I would go to the local hospital and see what items they would need for the children's ward to help entertain the children.  I would also proably be able to get a store to help donate some also if i am buying.

I am going to test this myself but this sounds like fun. I am going to gift 10 people 10 dollars, smile cards, a note and an alias email address. Ask Others What They Would Do!

I would go into our town with a friend and a video camera and ask random people what they would do for others with $100! I would carefully listen to their ideas, and when I hear one that we could do right then and there, I would hand them the $100 and film them spreading the kindness. Now wouldn't that be a nice surprise to them and to the person(s) on the receiving end!

Then I would post the video on youtube, to inspire others to do random acts of kindness!

Give A Gift That Keeps Giving

I'd go to a tree nursery and buy as many saplings 100 $ can buy. Then i'd go around the neighbourhood, asking people who have space outside their homes, if they'd like to adopt a tree. If they agree, i'll dig the pit and plant it (or, if they wish, help them plant it). And ask them to plant a tree for someone in turn. I'd love to trigger off this-tree planting- global cooling-earth healing- chain reaction.

Angel's Purse

My wife is a social worker at an oncology unit at a local hospital.  Often times people with cancer have little to no money for rides, necessary medication and sometimes food.  My wife's dream is to start a fund called Angel' Purse to help people in need in a hospital or local level  with no strings attached.  No committee's just a sense of compassion for those in need.

They make blankets and clothing for premature infants and babies in need.  They donate to hospitals, crisis pregnancy centers, shelters, law enforcement agencies, foster care, WIC offices, and individuals across much of the state of Colorado.  I think this would be one way to make the $100 go the farthest.

Shelter Kids

There is a family shelter near my school. The older children (13-16) don't get as much as the younger ones during the holidays.  I would use the money to take the kids out to see a baseball game and have a huge picnic for them, too.  We would goi real early to watch batting practice and maybe meet a few players. I have closely seen that maids in India seldom have good slippers or shoes.

$100 is a good money to buy many slippers. I would go to each flat in the building and enquire what time does their maid comes and usually a maid works in more than 2 or 3 flats.

I would gift nice, clean and new slippers to all of them.

Sandwiches And Smiles

When I was a young child my mother & I frequently discussed the idea of spending a day making sandwiches & then handing them out to the homeless throughout Wilm. My mother, however, grew ill and passed away before I turned age 7and our plans to feed the hungry were never executed. I am now 27 and often think about carrying out this endeavor but have yet to do so. If I was given an extra $100 I would be able to help those in need as well as honor the memory of my mom.

Inspiration The Size Of An Elephant!!

I work at a high volume coffee house in an eclectic community in Cincinnati. On a busy shift we can see up to 200 people in just 7 hours. I am the one waitress for 27 tables, and am in charge of taking care of everyone who comes. It is the most satisfying feeling to walk out of work knowing that I have done nothing but served others'. They smile, I smile. One day, a kind man came in for a cup of coffee. As a tip he left a dollar bill folded into an oragami elephant. I felt blessed with good fortune! I gave the elephant to my boyfriend, and asked him to always keep it as inspiration. A few months later the man came again, yet I did not recognize him until I found an elephant dollar on the table!  One day, a friend and I were bored, and I suggested we learn to make oragami elephants. Since then I have taken up making them for all of my friends/family. If I had $100 dollars to spare, I would make 100 elephants, and pass them out to everyone who came to the coffee shop one day!

Poor Feeding!
in India we say the best dhan(charity) is annadhan(to feed someone). The people who are fed usually bless- Annadhatha sukhibhava- means the person who fed them should have a good and happy life.

Irrespective when a person's stomach is full he/she obviously is pleased. I have been giving money every year to feed the poor. There are temples which would feed the beggars once a week with donations.

i learnt abt all this from my father.

Abc's Of Kindness Classroom Project

2 of my good friends are school teachers & frequently asking for ideas for class. I would sponsor "ABC's of Kindness Projects" for their classes. Each day, the class would get a new "kindness project" for the given letter of the alphabet. EX- Day 1 (A) for Appreciation & each student writes a letter to someone they appreciate. Day 2 (B) for Bananas. Bananas are an excellent food, full of potassium & can fill a big hunger void.  Have each child bring a banana to class & put a smiley sticker on each one.  Place them in a box decorated by the students & deliver to the local homeless shelter or  food bank.

After the class gets all the letters of the alphabet done @ the end of the month I would buy supplies for class parties (cups, napkins, cookies, fruit, etc) along with any supplies they needed throughout the month (Stamps to mail letters, etc).

Everyone Eats

Many people here are unemployed and barely have enough money to purchase groceries.

I have always wanted to hold a dinner for everyone in the community, but I myself haven't much to give. We've had many community dinners, but there was always a fee; that's what makes this one different - no fee.

I think the example would go a long way in showing the well-off people in this community how they can do their part to make life that much easier for those struggling to survive.

Origami Peace Cranes

I would purchase bright coloured paper, make origami peace cranes and then write the following message on the wings ‘Be kind’ (on one wing). ‘Help others’ (on the other wing). I would then leave them in random public places. I feel people would be more inclined to notice an origami crane than just an ordinary piece of paper and then maybe, just maybe the message of ‘Be kind, Help others’ may spread out like a mini Mexican Wave!

Wishing Tree

Last year at Christmas I went to a local grocery store.  They had an angel tree with the children's top three Christmas present wishes.  A few of them asked for a Nintendo DS.  Imagine if someone actually helped one of those hurting families to give a child a great present.

For Special Children

A family with special child (mentally retarded) is living in our nearby. That special boy could hardly understand what we say. He lives in his own world. His mother is really an angel. His mother is very politely handling him, never gets angry.

I will give each dollar to a special kid with smile cards and Thank you cards. So that the special kid can greet his parents and teachers who are comforting him.

I want to gift them and make them to gift others.

Roses For Girls

I would go with another lady friend and spend the night at the motel connected to our local brothel. We would eat dinner with the "girls"  & spend the evening letting them talk about the lives.  We would show them love by giving them attention with nothing expected in return.  I would like to carry a rose to each girl to put in her room.

Give Away Smile Cards

Smile Cards are the essence of the HelpOthers community. If I had an extra $100 I would personally ask HelpOthers to give one or a couple of Smile Cards randomly to members of the website. The $100 would cover the additional costs.

Imagine the smiles of those people who randomly receive these cards in the mail, and the smile on the people who they pass the cards on to. With this idea, the kindness produced by the $100 would never end...

Back To School.

I would put some of my own money with it and get 5-10 backpacks. Buy the average school supplies,.. Notebooks, pencils, crayons, etc.  Then go to the school and see if they know of any kids in need then give them to the children myself and put a smile card inside for their parents.  I know all kids get excited when they get things but to a kid who has nothing it will be extra rewarding to me to see them smile and know at the same time they got supplies needed to help them learn.

Helping Hands

With one hundred dollars I can feed one hundred people.  Before they eat I can fill their hearts and minds with food for the soul.  Afterwards, a yoga and/or mediatation session would send them off well.

Warmth For The Homeless

For several years now I have been knitting scarves and hats for the homeless and sending them to our local homeless center anonymously.  I know I don't like to be cold and I have such compassion for those who are homeless...many of which are women and children.  With $100.00 I would be able to buy lots of yard and make many scarves hats for those in need.

Handouts 4 The Homeless

If I won the $100, I would do this: I would buy drawstring backpacks, attach a Smile Card to the outside, and then fill them with necessities including, but not limited to: snacks, sandwiches, toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion etc), socks, hats,a Bible, etc. Then I would go downtown and hand a bag to every homeless person  I saw until I ran out of bags. I would say "just wanted to let you know you matter! Have a great day!!" and run off. :-D

Giving Opposite A Panhandler

I want to take a $100 and using a paper clip, attatch $1 to a smile card with one of my own RAK cards. I want to stand on the street next to the panhandlers, and every person who stops to smile, give or just say hello to us, will get my small Gift. Just because. And hopefully it will inspire them to pay it forward. Plus it'll spread the word about my Random Acts of Kindness Chapter that I'm starting up in my city :)

Donate To Schools

If I had an extra $100 I would donate it to a local classroom featured on donorschoose.org.  That charity lets teachers create proposals for school supplies that they need in their classrooms.  People can pick their favorite proposal and donate money to it.  I would pick a proposal that would benefit current and future students in my local community.
