Stories of Kindness from Around the World

A Hidden Gem...

--by sovereign, posted Jul 6, 2008

I posted a story yesterday and have received comments on that story.  I appreciate the feedback and I also appreciate the fact that I have found a Hidden Gem.

We live and struggle each day and continually we see rising prices, whether it is gas, prescription drugs, groceries, or whatever.  And it makes a person realize that we should take the time to pause and thank God for what we have.

I have come to realize that even more the past few weeks, with the floods we have had in Iowa.  I watch as people who have worked all their lives struggle with the loss of probably everything they may have worked for most of their lives.  I thank God for what we have and I pray for all those who have lost so-o-o much.

I look around at the things we own and realize that while they may seem priceless and are priceless to us, we need to take the time to look for and promote those Hidden Gems we find in this life.

I found one of those Hidden Gems when I came across this web site--HelpOther.Org--and I thank God for whoever came up with this idea.  And I thank God for ALL OF YOU who have become a part of such a fantastic GOOD THING in this world.

I am a 50% service-connected veteran and served during both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.  I thank God I have two legs, two arms, eyes to see with, ears to hear, and the opportunity to meet people like YOU!

To the creators and moderators of this web site; to all of you who participate;and to all those out there who have a handicap or a disability:  GOD BLESS YOU for being a part of this web site and my life.  YOU ALL make this walk worth every step.

And one other thing.  When things are looking bad and you think you have reached the end of your rope, grasp the ribbon of hope that is being passed around by this web site and the people who participate in and with it!

YOU are worth more money than gold.....all of you!
